SBJH Back School
If you've ever groaned, "Oh, my aching back!", you are not alone. Back pain is one of the most common medical problems, affecting 8 out of 10 people. In fact, back pain is one of the most common reasons for health care visits and missed work. It is second only to common cold as a cause of lost days at work. Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to sudden, sharp pain. Acute back pain comes on suddenly and usually lasts from a few days to few weeks. Taking pain relievers and resting can help. However, staying in bed for more than 1 or 2 days can make it worse. If your back pain is severe or doesn't improve after 3 days, you should visit a doctor. It is important to attend and treat these spine-related problems because they can go a long way in affecting the day to day routine of an individual and even have the potential to cripple one's life, if it is not treated properly. |
