The Soundarapandian Trauma Fellowship Program
The Soundarapandian Trauma Orthopaedic Fellowship Program at Soundarapandian Bone and Joint Hospital is a one-year, intensive training program designed to provide orthopaedic surgeons with advanced knowledge and practical experience in managing complex trauma cases. The program aims to enhance the clinical skills and decision-making abilities of fellows in both acute and reconstructive trauma care.

Learning Objectives
- Master the assessment and treatment of both simple and complex fractures.
- Develop expertise in advanced surgical techniques for trauma care.
- Enhance skills in managing trauma complications, such as infections, malunion, and nonunion of fractures.
- Gain a deep understanding of the rehabilitation process and long-term recovery for trauma patients.
- Improve decision-making and leadership skills in managing trauma teams and emergency situations.

- MS (Ortho) / DNB (Ortho)
Program Structure
- Duration: 1 year
- Supervision: Fellows will train under the direct supervision of senior orthopaedic trauma consultants.
- Rotations: The fellowship includes rotations through the emergency department, trauma wards, and operating theatres, ensuring comprehensive exposure to both inpatient and outpatient trauma care.
Fellowship Seats
- 2 positions available annually
Selection Process
Fellows are chosen based on personal interviews with senior consultants, including Dr. Sivamurugan and Dr. Ravi Subramaniam. Interviews take place in June, with the fellowship running from September 1st to August 31st of the following year.
